LIVINGSTON, NJ, (June 17, 2009) — BurrellesLuce Vice President Johna Burke will join other experts on a panel discussing strategic measurement during a seminar co-sponsored by the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) www.aapa-ports.org and the Detroit Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) www.prsadetroit.org, June 23-25 in Detroit. The two-and-a-half day event is a comprehensive public relations and marketing seminar, focusing on the theme of "Strategic Public Relations Planning, Executing and Measurement." Burke will sit on a panel covering "Formal and Informal Communications Audits," which will examine the benefits of measuring the results of a communications plan.
The seminar will explore the following topics:
- Defining measurement objectives and goals that meet an organization's individual needs.
- Identifying the full range of options available in developing a successful strategic communications plan. Implementing a media measurement program that provides actionable results.
On the seminar's final day, attendees will be shown examples of real-life strategic communications plans, and will then break out into interactive groups to formulate their own initiatives.
Ms. Burke is a prominent authority on results-oriented media measurement who is often invited to talk about best practices in public relations, including the measurement of PR effectiveness. She joined BurrellesLuce in 2000, after serving as director of public and investor relations for U-Haul International. Ms. Burke is a PRSA member and the Southern Region chairperson of the International Association of Business Communicators.
