LIVINGSTON, NJ (March 22, 2012)—
Public relations practitioners and students in states covering several regions will benefit from the valuable insights of Tressa Robbins, vice president of BurrellesLuce’s Media Outreach, during three industry events scheduled for late March and mid-April.
In St. Louis on March 23, Robbins will serve on a panel aimed at helping students gain a realistic understanding of the PR industry and assisting them in connecting with PR professionals. The session is a feature of Pro-Am Day, sponsored by the St. Louis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and taking place at St. Louis University. The theme of the day-long event is “The ‘You’ Brand: Planning and Executing Your Career Path.”
In Nashville a week later, Robbins will be a speaker, as well as a panel member, at the Public Relations Student Society of America’s Region 5 annual conference. The program, whose theme is “Southern Hospitality,” will be held at Belmont University on March 30 and 31, and Robbins will explain how the regional trait highlighted by the theme can be channeled into successful media relations.
The University of Iowa is the venue for the PRSSA Region 2 annual conference, taking place April 13 -15 in Iowa City. The theme is “PR = People Relations: Are You in the Conversation?” and Robbins will tie into the topic by describing how practitioners can become active and welcome participants in the dialogue through effective use of the traditional and social media.
Robbins brought 15 years of diversified business, communications, and public relations experience to BurrellesLuce when she joined the company in 1998. Since then, she has applied her extensive marketing and sales know-how to reinforcing BurrellesLuce’s coveted position in media planning, monitoring and measurement among PR professionals. She has long been active in public relations and regional business groups, including the St. Louis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, for which she serves as a board member, chairperson of the membership committee and liaison to the PRSSA chapters in the area. Robbins also is a frequent—and widely followed—commentator on media relations and social media for Fresh Ideas, the BurrellesLuce blog, and is a guest contributor to PRSA’s blog, comPRehension.
