It’s Veteran’s Day – What Can We Do For Our Country?

One thing that makes Public Relations successful in our country is a free and vibrant press.  The Internet, invented in the USA in part by our armed forces (and not Al Gore), has only caused the opportunity for the sharing of ideas to grow larger, and PR has definitely benefited by being able to engage the publics that have sprouted up.

As they old saying goes “freedom isn’t free” and it’s especially true today, Veteran’s Day.  Whether you agree or not with the politics of the situation, the men and women of our armed forces are currently engaged in two actions in which they are placing their lives on the line.  Also, there are countless other Vets that have equally served and sacrificed for our country and protected our freedoms.

It’s a shame that Veteran’s Day doesn’t get more attention or reverence as these fellow citizens have really given of themselves for our country and way of life.  If you’re in PR and you’d like to give back, let us know if you’d like to do pro-bono work for an organization that supports our Vets.  We’ll be right behind you with pro-bono media monitoring and measurement, plus any other resources we can bring to bear.
