NEW YORK (October 21, 2004) — BurrellesLuce,
the world's leading media monitoring and analysis company,
is showcasing a powerful and intuitive online media contact
database at this year’s Public Relations Society of
America International Conference.
MediaContacts (Version 1) incorporates an advanced hierarchical
search capability that streamlines and improves the process
for creating media contact lists. Through the use of subject
categories and subcategories, MediaContacts enables users
to drill down to the most appropriate subject and corresponding
media contact that is related to a specific public relations
campaign. The new public relations resource tool is designed
not only to save time, but also to improve media relations
results by helping professionals more accurately identify
those in the media who are most likely to write about a story
in the newspaper or talk about it on the evening news.

enhanced. Many of the media outlets are contacted as often
as every 60 days in order to verify and update information.

a minimum of once or twice a year.

databases, MediaContacts continues to provide a number of

MediaContacts is the first online media database of its kind

and services. For example, subscribers to BurrellesLuce and
VMS InSight™ will be able to monitor media coverage
online and retrieve contact information all in one place.
Within higher levels of InSight, users will be able to
research contact information for a media source and then
view previous coverage from that source – also all
in one place.
Additionally, BurrellesLuce is offering enhanced
press release distribution capabilities through MediaContacts.
The service enables users to upload a press announcement
to the MediaContacts Web server for distribution to a customized
MediaContacts contact list previously created and saved by
the user.
